WWE is always making efforts to find the next main event star in the company. In the past year, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and Drew McIntyre have entered the upper echelon on the roster, joining the likes of Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, and Seth Rollins.

Paul Davis at WrestlingNews.co reported that Vince McMahon has his eyes set on another future main event star currently wrestling on NXT house shows. Davis revealed McMahon thinks second-generation wrestler Cal Bloom has the look, the size, and the move-set to be "a big deal" in the future, but that it will take some time for the young up-and-comer to develop. Bloom has also been praised by others within WWE, who have compared him to a young Edge.

A source told Davis: "Everyone is comparing him to a young Edge. He is rough around the edges but he has something and Vince thinks he can be a big deal but it will take some time."

Since signing with WWE in May 2019, Bloom has mostly wrestled at NXT live events but he made his main roster debut recently on the April 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown as an enhancement talent against Sheamus. While he was defeated by The Celtic Warrior in just over one minute, many noticed the potential Cal had.
