WWE teased something called 'Diamond Mine' on last week's NXT, suggesting that a new faction would be debuting in the promotion under that name.

The company are holding the exact nature of what 'Diamond Mine' is close to their chest but Fightful Select is reporting that Tessa Blanchard, who is currently a free agent, is not involved in the concept in any way.

Blanchard departed IMPACT Wrestling in June 2020 and has been linked with both WWE and All Elite Wrestling. The 25-year-old did previously feature in NXT in 2016 and took part in the 2017 Mae Young Classic.

WWE's 'Diamond Mine' tease is close to the diamond imagery that Blanchard has previously used in the past but a WWE source, according to Fightful, said fans should not expect or anticipate Blanchard to be part of the act. However, they did recognise how the misconception could happen.

A further tease for 'Diamond Mine' was shown on this week's NXT, which seemed to confirm it had an MMA/UFC theme.

It was reported earlier this week that AEW are not in talks with Blanchard and it appears, at this time, a move back to WWE isn't on the cards either.
