The latest update in Johnny Gargano's return to pro wrestling

Will Johnny Gargano be going back to WWE?
Since Triple H took over as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and head of creative, The Game has brought back several former talents he pushed on NXT, including Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis, and the faction Hit Row.
Another of Triple H's favourites in Johnny Gargano has been a free agent since his WWE contract expired in December of 2021 and he has largely stayed away from the industry outside of convention appearances, instead focusing on raising his son.
Gargano is open to going back to WWE following Triple H taking over as head of creative, however, according to Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam.net. The former NXT Champion is said to be willing to speak to Triple H and "seeing how things would be changing."
Furthermore, it was noted that while Gargano was not a fan of the grind in WWE, especially with a new baby, the main reason he decided to leave the company was "dissatisfaction with his position/direction with no set plan for how he'd be used."
This follows reports from earlier this month which revealed Shawn Michaels had been tasked with reaching out to Gargano about coming back to WWE, although there is no word on how any potential conversation went.
A possible issue for WWE, however, is they might face competition with All Elite Wrestling as Haynes noted Gargano has been in talks with Tony Khan's promotion. Johnny Wrestling recently stated that both companies have their positives and negatives.
