Report: AEW Has Delayed Booking Some Big Moments Because They Don't Want Them To Take Place In An Empty Arena

Since the March 18 episode of Dynamite, all AEW programming has been broadcast from behind closed doors at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida or QT Marshall's gym in Norcross, Georgia.

Some big moments have still taken place in the young promotion despite the ongoing pandemic as numerous stars have made their debuts and Cody was crowned the inaugural TNT Champion at Double Or Nothing 2020.

The AEW landscape seemingly would have changed even more over the past five months if not for the pandemic, however, as Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the promotion has delayed booking other big moments because they want them to get a "giant pop," which isn't possible in an empty arena setting.

Meltzer said: "There's a lot of stuff that they want to do there that would have been done, that would have already happened, except they don't want to peak somebody when there's no crowd… Some things really need to get that giant pop and you can't get that giant pop in this situation so it's best to save them. But the problem is what if we're like this for another year?"
