Mark Henry Signs With AEW As Broadcaster, Coach

After more than a quarter century association with WWE, Mark Henry has signed with All Elite Wrestling.

"The World's Strongest Man" appeared at Sunday night's Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Jacksonville, introduced by Tony Schiavone as the newest member of the broadcast team, as well as a backstage coach.

Henry will join the booth as part of AEW Rampage, which premieres Friday night, August 13 on TNT.

The signing with AEW ends Henry's long association with WWE, which began in 1996 when he was preparing for his run in the Summer Olympics. During his time with the promotion, Henry held the World Heavyweight, ECW, and European titles. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

Though he nominally retired from the ring in 2017, Henry wrestled one last time in 2018, taking part in the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah.

In recent years, Henry had worked backstage as a producer and mentor in WWE, as well as a radio personality. His last WWE appearance was as part of the January 4 "Legends Night" episode of Raw.
