Kurt Angle Reveals Shaquille O'Neal Texted Him To Join AEW
"They’re just rumors. People like to talk. They like to get excited about things."

Kurt Angle has revealed how Shaquille O'Neal has texted him telling him to join All Elite Wrestling.
Angle, who retired from in-ring competition at WWE WrestleMania 35, has been linked with a switch to AEW since being released from his backstage production role in April 2020. The Olympic Hero has, however, been utilised occasionally by WWE since.
The 52-year-old maintains that he is 'done' with being a professional wrestler and has no real interest in stepping into the ring again, even though the legendary Shaq has directly contacted him about a switch to AEW.
Speaking to The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, Angle said: "I’m in the best shape of my life, but I’m not going to wrestle. I’m done with that.
"Shaquille O’Neal just texted me today and said, ‘You need to come to AEW.’ I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’ Actually, if I did wrestle again, it would be most likely for WWE, but I’m not going to do that. AEW was always an option, I just never really considered it because I’m retired.
"I’ve heard the rumors. That’s what they are. They’re just rumors. People like to talk. They like to get excited about things, and, unfortunately, that’s not going to happen."
