Kenny Omega Appearance Helps Boost IMPACT Wrestling Ratings

They even beat NXT in the 18-34 demographic...

This week's edition of IMPACT was hotly-anticipated and featured an appearance from new AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis, a paid advert from Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone and the continuation of IMPACT's storylines heading into Final Resolution.

Omega's appearance resulted in a boost in the ratings for IMPACT and the December 8 episode averaged 221,000 viewers, up 33 percent from last week's 166,000. The show also earned a 0.08 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, up from 0.05 last week.

This week's IMPACT even managed to finish above WWE NXT in the 18-34 demo with a 0.05 rating compared to the black and gold brand's 0.04 rating on December 2, according to PWTorch.

Beyond AXS TV, Omega's appearance boosted IMPACT's viewership across multiple platforms. PWInsider reported the episode's live stream on Twitch peaked at 55,396 and averaged 42,956 viewers. This was 13x higher than the usual IMPACT audience on Twitch.

As of Thursday morning, the full episode of IMPACT has 253,000 views on YouTube and the Omega-Callis interview has 325,000 views. AEW's paid advert was also watched 97,000 times. In comparison, the rest of IMPACT Wrestling's clips from Tuesday's episode have averaged 28,000 views.

Furthermore, the full episode on Facebook has been viewed 67,000 times and the Omega-Callis interview has been watched 192,000 times.
