On tonight's Raw, John Cena called out The Undertaker, challenging him to a match at WrestleMania 34 on April 8th.

Cena cut a promo after failing to win the WWE Championship in last night's Fastlane main event. It was the latest of a series of attempts by Cena to forge a path onto the 'Mania card, only to come up short each time.

He failed to win the Royal Rumble, making it to the final three only to be eliminated by Shinsuke Nakamura. Then, he was eliminated from the Elimination Chamber by Braun Strowman, losing the opportunity to challenge for Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship.

In desperation, Cena then showed up on SmackDown and forced his way into the WWE Championship match at Fastlane - a six-way bout between himself, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, and WWE Champion AJ Styles. Again, he failed, as Styles pinned Owens to retain the title and carry it into WrestleMania.

Tonight, Cena first teased merely attending 'Mania as a fan, before turning his attention to The Undertaker and challenging him to one last match. 'Taker appeared to retire at the end of last year's WrestleMania, leaving his signature gloves, hat, and trenchcoat in the ring after losing to Roman Reigns.

Cena's promo even included a slight breaking of kayfabe, as he referenced workout videos of Undertaker appearing on his wife's Instagram. While feuds these days do often include references to social media, 'Taker is rarely (if ever) referred to outside of his supernatural persona.
