Jim Ross has taken to social media to issue an apology for accidently calling AEW Dynamite 'WWE Dynamite' during Wednesday's broadcast.
Experienced announcer Ross made the error towards the end of Wednesday evening's AEW Dynamite show. The former WWE lead commentator was promoting AEW's upcoming return to touring and welcoming live crowds back, but said: "Let me tell you fans, there’s nothing in your life that will top seeing a live WWE Dynamite."
The 69-year-old's mistake was quickly pounced on by fans on social media and Ross himself has taken to Twitter to hold his hands up for his botch.
Writing on the social media platform, he said: "Yep I apparently made an untimely error tonight at shows end. No excuses. And I’m not quitting."
Busted Open Radio’s David LaGreca would tweet that 'mistakes happen' during live production and praised JR's ability. JR re-tweeted those comments and added, “Thx Dave. It’s all on me. No excuses.”
Ross worked for WWE in a multitude of positions between 1993-2019, before joining All Elite Wrestling in April 2019 as their new lead announcer.
