Jay Lethal has become the latest name added to the Multi-Man Match for the vacant AAA Mega Championship at AAA Triplemania Regia next month.

Lethal will join El Hijo Del Vikingo and Samuray del Sol, the former Kalisto in WWE, in the match to crown a new AAA Mega Champion after Kenny Omega was forced to vacate the Title due to injury.

Omega had been scheduled to defend the Championship one-on-one against Vikingo at the event next weekend but, with The Belt Collector out of action, a multi-man bout will now determine the new AAA Mega Champion.

Reacting to the news in a promo on social media, Lethal said: "My name is Jay Lethal. I am a six-time X-Division Champion. A two-time Ring of Honor World Champion, newly signed to AEW, and the next AAA Mega Champion.

"I have travelled the world for 19 years, 19 long years, perfecting professional wrestling. I have victories over guys like Kurt Angle and Ric Flair and now I have my sights set on the AAA Mega Championship. In fact, I've had my sights set on for a while because I've been watching ever since 2010, when Texano won it, I have waited. I have waited and waited and now it is finally here, my moment.

"Do I feel bad for Kenny Omega? Sure I do. But what's bad for him is great for me, because this opportunity gives me a chance. A chance to add my name to a list full of passion, to add my name to a list full of legends, tie my name to history, tie my name to a list of guys like Dr. Wagner Jr, El Mesias, Texano Jr, Fenix, and Kenny Omega, and now, me.

"My name will be added to the list. I will add my name to the history of AAA forever. Because in Monterrey, Mexico, December 4, I will become the brand new AAA Mega Champion."
