CM Punk and Eric Bischoff were involved in a Twitter spat on Tuesday after The Second City Saviour responded to a clip from the former WCW President.

Within the short video, Bischoff argued that AEW would only grow as a promotion if they started to appeal to 'casual' wrestling fans, as opposed to the audience the promotion already has.

Upon noticing the clip, Punk tweeted: "Wrestling twitter needs to stop amplifying all the old head bad faith bad take carny dips***s. They had their moment in the sun. Let them die in the dark with their ego podcasts. Quote me."

This seemingly angered Bischoff, though, as he mocked a past comment from Punk in which the AEW talent said him, Bryan Danielson, and Adam Cole joining the promotion was bigger than The Outsiders signing with WCW.

Bischoff replied: "Ok: 'So, I'm not Hogan or Savage. Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole, they're not The Outsiders, I see the parallels, but this is totally different. I'll go ahead and say it and people can quote me and they'll be p****d off about it, but to me, this is bigger.' How's that working out?"

Bischoff then called AEW's ratings since Punk signed with the company "lame", writing: "Let's look at what Punk has delivered since debuting at AEW: August Rampage: 1.1mm viewers. Now? Lucky to hit 500k. Dynamite? 1.17mm. Now? Lucky to break 900k. Pretty lame for a guy who thinks he's a bigger deal than Scott Hall/Kevin Nash, Randy Savage."

Bischoff also joked about Punk's past career in UFC.

Punk and Bischoff have previously disagreed over the concept of the casual fan and the former WWE Champion said back in November 2021 that casual fans don't exist.
