Chris Jericho made notable references to his backstage fights with Brock Lesnar and Goldberg during his promo on this week's AEW Dynamite.

Jericho and Jake Hager confronted Dan Lambert, Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky and American Top Team during the September 15 episode of AEW Dynamite, setting up a tag-team match for next week's Grand Slam that will see the Inner Circle duo take on Page and Sky.

During the back-and-forth promo, Jericho made several references to shoot fights he had gotten involved in backstage during his time in WWE and WCW. The infamous altercations involved a scrap with Lesnar in 2016 in WWE, while his battle with Goldberg was back in 2003, during the WCW legend's first WWE run.

The Demo God said: "I’ve been getting into skirmishes backstage with MMA guys my whole career.

"I got into it with a UFC champion ‘beast’ [Brock Lesnar] a few years ago. And a few years before that, I had a shoot fight with an MMA-trained raging Bill [Goldberg] backstage. They didn’t kill me; I don’t think you can either."
