Since All Elite Wrestling began with this year's Double Or Nothing, Chris Jericho has been one of the focal points for the young promotion - becoming the inaugural AEW World Champion at All Out.

While he is happy as World Champion at the moment, Le Champion admits that AEW's future lies with creating new stars. During an interview with

Sports Illustrated

, Jericho discussed the exposure AEW has provided to younger performers, or those less familiar to a wider audience. He said: "Guys like MJF, Darby Allin, and Scorpio Sky have been in main event matches. We’ve made those guys into stars very quickly. It’s only been nine weeks of TV, so imagine where we’ll be after nine months."

The Painmaker added that he sees it as his mission in AEW to establish these young stars, providing them the platform to be successful once he decides to hang up his boots. Jericho elaborated: "One of my mission statements in AEW is to build new talent. People complain, 'We don’t have any idea who these people are!' It’s only been nine weeks, and we’re focusing on one person every couple of weeks. Building new stars will make this promotion successful. This past week gave Sammy Guevara some spotlight, as well as Ortiz, Santana, and SCU."
