AEW's Will Hobbs Receives A New Name
Will Hobbs is no more...
Nov 26, 2020
On last week's episode of AEW: Dynamite, Will Hobbs turned heel and joined Team Taz. The Human Suplex Machine had been trying to recruit the new AEW star for weeks and he finally got his man as Hobbs helped Brian Cage and Ricky Starks take out Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes to close out the show.
To go with his recent change of character, Hobbs received a new name yesterday and AEW billed him as Powerhouse Hobbs for his match against Nightmare Family member Lee Johnson. Powerhouse also switched up his attire and came to the ring in a Team Taz branded singlet. Why AEW decided to give Hobbs a new name is currently unknown.
Powerhouse displayed a new aggression during his match against Johnson and squashed his opponent in a few minutes. His battles with The Nightmare Family look set to continue, though, as Taz and Cody Rhodes traded insults after Hobbs headed to the back and the segment ended with the former ECW World Heavyweight Champion choking out The American Nightmare with the Tazmission.
