AEW's Vickie Guerrero Reveals How Her WWE Career Began
Vickie made her on-screen debut during Eddie's 2005 feud with Rey Mysterio

Vickie Guerrero has revealed a desire from Vince McMahon to make Eddie Guerrero's 2005 feud with Rey Mysterio more personal as the reason behind her own entry into the wrestling business.
Guerrero, now with All Elite Wrestling, enjoyed an almost decade-long span on the WWE roster as a manager to the likes of Edge, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, while also playing a tremendous role as a heel general manager on both Raw and SmackDown.
Her tenure as an on-screen superstar for WWE started with her involvement in her late husband's rivalry with Mysterio, with the storyline surrounding custody of Rey's son, Dominik.
Guerrero has said it was down to McMahon's idea to get Eddie's family involved, something Latino Heat was only too happy for his wife to do.
Speaking on the AEW Unrestricted Podcast, when asked how her involvement in wrestling began, she said: "Eddie told me to. During that storyline, it was Rey Mysterio and Eddie for the child custody case of Dominik, and so it was going really well between Rey and Eddie.
"And then when Vince McMahon wanted the family to get involved to make it seem more personal, I thought it wasn’t going to come to fruition, but it did. We started bringing the girls in and me in, and to be able to perform backstage and do different segments with Eddie."
Guerrero also opened up on what it was like working with her husband during this time in WWE, praising Eddie for helping her to quickly get accustomed to the rigours of producing WWE television.
She added: "Eddie was a perfectionist. He would just beat himself up over the littlest things. So the pressure was on me to not screw up because I had to go home with him. So that was something that was even twice as hard for me to try and do my best without getting that 'Guerrero look'.
“He really helped me a lot because this is not what I did for a living. I was just a mom taking care of our girls. So he really coached me a lot, how look in the camera, how to work, how to stand and what to say and how to say it. He was so great. I wish it would have been more of him being alive longer where I could work with him more, but it’s just weird how life works out. I just had that great moment with him before he passed.”
