AEW's Adam Cole Personally Hadn't Heard About WWE Main Roster Manager Plans
Cole knew nothing of the plans

After four years with WWE, Adam Cole departed the company in August and debuted in All Elite Wrestling a couple of weeks later at All Out.
WWE made a major play to re-sign the longest-reigning NXT Champion in history, which included a face-to-face meeting with Vince McMahon, and Cole would have moved to the main roster had he remained with WWE.
According to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, WWE wanted to book Cole as Keith Lee's manager on the main roster and give them a similar dynamic to the Lio Rush-Bobby Lashley partnership from 2018 and early 2019. Meltzer didn't report that the plan was pitched to Cole, though, and the 32-year-old told TVInsider he personally hadn't heard anything about the idea.
"I personally have never heard anything regarding that. I touched base a little bit on how my meeting with Vince McMahon went really well. We talked for about 30 minutes. He had a lot of complimentary things to say. As far as hearing that specific thing, that was not something I heard about. My four years with NXT was fantastic. My four years with WWE was awesome, but at the end of the day, I wanted to end up with AEW. Now that I'm here, I'm stoked," Cole said.
Since his AEW debut, Cole has rejoined The Elite and he competed in his first Dynamite match last night against "The Elite Hunter" Frankie Kazarian.
