Adam Cole Reportedly Yet To Decide Between AEW & WWE
The former NXT Champion’s WWE deal is set to expire after SummerSlam

Despite high level meetings with Vince McMahon and WWE management last week, the future of NXT’s Adam Cole is still undecided, with the former NXT Champion’s contract set to expire after SummerSlam weekend.
Per a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, Cole is still weighing up his options:
“The meeting was said to have gone well and the writing team was told to come up with scenarios for him. As of the latest word, he hadn’t decided on what he was going to do. Cole has a great relationship with Paul Levesque and Shawn Michaels, who was one of his heroes growing up and helped him a lot in NXT. The one thing is that while there are always exceptions to every rule if you’ve got super charisma (see Rey Mysterio and Bryan Danielson), Raw & Smackdown booked by Vince McMahon has never been too kind to guys 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds and while that stigma does exist to a degree everywhere (New Japan in particular) it is also not as strong everywhere else.
“Tony Khan said that he has not made Cole an offer but Cole is one of those guys where you would think he could work anywhere he wants, and for people like that right now, that decision means WWE or AEW in most cases. From a WWE standpoint, there are discussions ongoing and they really want to keep him. There is also the perception issue because with a contract expiring, Cole could leave and start on AEW television in a few weeks and the idea of Punk, Danielson and Cole all starting at the same time could give AEW a huge boost.”
Whatever Cole chooses, it is sure to send shockwaves through the pro wrestling industry.
