The dust has settled on AAA TripleMania XXIX and Kenny omega is still your AAA Mega Champion after defeating Andrade El Idolo this past weekend.

Many had predicted that Omega would drop the belt after the events of AEW Rampage on Friday, where Christian Cage defeated him for the IMPACT World Championship.

Now, per reports from The Wrestling Observer and Fightful Select, AAA are undecided on Omega’s next opponent, with the outcome of TripleMania changed at Tony Khan’s request.

It has been confirmed by Fightful that Khan indeed has control over Omega’s finishes, and it is believed by some within AAA that Khan made the call for Omega to retain due to the rapidly changing main event scene in AEW, as well as Cage winning the titles, and Hangman Page taking paternity leave.

Andrade was originally slated to win the title at the show, but Fightful’s report stated that several wrestlers backstage had heard that AAA was informed of the change in early July, possibly sooner.

As for Omega’s next challenger in AAA, no names are understood to have been pencilled in, although there has been talk of El Hijo Vikingo receiving a shot somewhere down the line, whilst Psycho Clown and an Andrade rematch are not believed to be immediately on the cards.
