Yutaka Yoshie's cause of death has been confirmed by his family.

Tokyo Sports reported (H/T F4WOnline): "The bereaved family explained that the cause of death was 'due to arteriosclerosis' and said, 'It's not caused by a professional wrestling match, so please don't worry about it.'"

Yutaka Yoshie tragically passed away on March 10. Yoshie teamed with Ryo Inoue in a loss to Hokuto Omori and Ryouji Sai at an All Japan Pro-Wrestling show that same day and he began to suddenly feel unwell when he got backstage. He was then rushed to hospital but passed away at 50 years old.

Arteriosclerosis is a condition where the arteries thicken and become stiff, restricting blood flow.

Suwama reflected on Yoshie's passing to Tokyo Sports, saying: "All the wrestlers are shocked. A professional wrestler is a profession where you don't know what will happen when, but this time, it's such a timing. He was a person who was wearing short sleeves and shorts even in the snow, and he was cheerful and a cheerful person. It's really impossible."

Yoshie made his pro wrestling debut in 1994 after coming through the New Japan Pro-Wrestling dojo system. He is a former IWGP Tag Team Champion, having held the belts with Hiroshi Tanahashi. Yoshie departed NJPW in 2006 and was a freelancer until his passing.
