An apocalyptic-like figure who will bring destruction to New Japan Pro-Wrestling has been hinted at in video packages featuring lions, dinosaurs, and missiles in recent months and it was revealed at Wrestling Dontaku on Wednesday, May 3 that the returning Yota Tsuji was the wrestler behind those clips.

IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA retained his title in the main event of Wrestling Dontaku, defeating Hiromu Takahashi, and he looked set to stand tall to end the event as the ring filled with confetti while he was on Taichi's shoulders. Before the show went off the air, though, the apocalyptic video package played once again and a mysterious hooded figure stood on the ramp and began to make their way to the squared circle.

Just before they reached the ring, the figure removed his hood to reveal himself as Yota Tsuji, who proceeded to get in the ring and take out all of the members of Just Five Guys. The former Young Lion now looks set to rocket straight to the top of the NJPW card as he held the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship above a fallen SANADA as Wrestling Dontaku came to an end, hinting he will challenge for the belt at a future show.

Tsuji began his NJPW career back in 2018 as a Young Lion and he remained in the developmental system until he began his excursion in the summer of 2021. After competing primarily for RevPro in the United Kingdom for close to 18 months, Tsuji headed to CMLL in late 2022.

He has wrestled in Mexico for much of the last six months but Tsuji has also made further appearances for RevPro and wrestled for WXW.
