The WWE 24/7 championship has changed hands for the fifth time since the start of the week. Beginning on Sunday, champion R-Truth exchanged the belt with Jinder Mahal at a golf course, and then with Elias during Tuesday's episode of SmackDown in Laredo, TX.

For the third time this week, Truth has dropped the gold.

Mahal has now become a two-time 24/7 champion

after pinning R-Truth sometime Thursday, with the title switch taking place on an airport tarmac.

Truth was holding the belt while in the midst of a phone conversation when Mahal, referee at his side (proving that referees travel in their officiating garb), came down the steps of an airplane, snuck up on Truth, and rolled him up for the pin. He then darted back to the plane, belt in hand.

Mahal is scheduled to take part in the 50-man battle royal at Super ShowDown on Friday in Jeddah. If he makes it into the match as champion, the potential for a litany of rapid-fire title changes appears great.
