Spooky season is in the air, and with No Mercy out of the way NXT are looking ahead to Halloween Havoc, with the scariest show of the year set for two nights on October 24 and 31.

On the October 3 edition of NXT TV, the first match for Halloween Havoc was made official, with the NXT Women’s Championship set to be defended on night one of the special. Champion Becky Lynch will be putting the championship on the line against Lyra Valkyria.

Valkyria earned her shot at the title after overcoming Indi Hartwell and Roxanne Perez in a triple threat match to determine a challenger, with Kiana James costing the match for Perez.

Lynch’s last defence of the belt came at No Mercy on September 30, with ‘The Man’ defeating former champ Tiffany Stratton in an Extreme Rules match. Lynch was subsequently set to put the title on the line against Tegan Nox on the October 2 edition of WWE Raw, but was not cleared to compete.
