Day 17 of New Japan Pro-Wrestling G1 Climax 30 began earlier today and Will Ospreay had to defeat his stablemate Kazuchika Okada to stand any chance of reaching the finals on Sunday, October 18.

Both men battled back and forth for 17 minutes in an even contest, but the match ended in shocking circumstances.

As the bout drew to a close, The Rainmaker had Ospreay trapped in the Money Clip, but The Ariel Assassin's girlfriend Bea Priestley suddenly jumped on the apron and distracted the official. The returning Great-O-Kharn then appeared from out of nowhere and took out Okada. Ospreay feigned confusion, but immediately hit his stablemate with Stormbreaker for the 1-2-3.

After picking up the win, the British Heavyweight Champion continued to feign confusion until he shockingly laid out Okada with the Hidden Blade. He then berated the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and declared Okada had held him back.

This is the second time Okada has been betrayed by a stablemate in as many years as his longtime manager Gedo turned on him with Jay White back at Destruction In Kobe in 2018.
