Vice TV announced on Monday that a third season of Dark Side of the ring is on the way, and will premiere in 2021 with 14 episodes.

Vice TV executive vice president and general manager Morgan Hertzan said of the renewal, “‘Dark Side of the Ring’ is a knockout show for Vice TV. The tag-team executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener are true heavyweight champions of the world (of TV), and we are so excited to pin down a third season of this incredible series. Seasons 1 and 2 of ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ are examples of the compelling, thought-provoking, and engaging storytelling we champion here at Vice TV. We can’t wait to see what the series will throw down in the third round!"

The show premiered in 2019 with a six-episode season that featured one-hour documentaries on The Von Erichs, Bruiser Brody, and the Montreal Screwjob, among other topics.

Dark Side of the Ring expanded to ten episodes in 2020, and helped bring in the highest ratings in the history of Vice. Some topics covered include Owen Hart, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, The Road Warriors, and a two-part documentary on Chris Benoit.

Though topics for the third season have not been officially revealed, Dave Meltzer noted in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they're working on episodes for the likes of Brian Pillman, Dynamite Kid, Grizzly Smith, and the Collision in Korea show of 1995. Actor/occasional wrestler David Arquette had previously claimed an episode on Nick Gage was in the works.
