It's been two months since Jon Moxley wrestled his first match for New Japan Pro Wrestling, winning the United States title from Juice Robinson.

Since then, he's competed in the G1 Climax (most notably in a thrilling, critically-acclaimed match against Tomohiro Ishii), and has comically taken young Shota Umino under his wing. But how much longer could this overseas fun last?

According to a

report from Sports Illustrated

, Moxley's contract with New Japan runs through Wrestle Kingdom 14 on January 4. After Moxley's loss to Robinson in Block B of the G1 on Sunday, it seems logical that the two could be on a collision course for the Tokyo Dome on that date, with Robinson perhaps looking to regain his title.

Moxley signed a three-year deal with All Elite Wrestling back in the spring, but reportedly has an opt-out after one year if he chooses to act on it. Though his AEW contract permits him to take outside bookings such as with New Japan, AEW maintains first "dibs" on what shows he can work.
