Undertaker And Roman Reigns Vs Shane McMahon And Drew McIntyre To Open WWE Extreme Rules

Perhaps Undertaker has a flight to catch? Maybe WWE's adhering to the 1993 Monday Night Raw formula where the biggest match goes on earlier? Whatever the case may be, the pay-per-view broadcast of WWE Extreme Rules will be led out by what some would consider the main event.

that the No Holds Barred match pitting The Undertaker and Roman Reigns against Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre will open things up at the 7 PM EST hour.

There is a bit of precedent here, as WWE has, at times, put a main event-caliber match on first on a pay-per-view. WrestleMania 35 this year comes to mind, as Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins' Universal title match led off the pay-per-view portion. At No Mercy 2016, the WWE title bout featuring AJ Styles, John Cena, and Dean Ambrose opened, owing to a Presidential debate running during the later portions of the event's time slot.

The event marks Undertaker's first match at a July pay-per-view since he wrestled Big Show in a Punjabi Prison match at the 2006 Great American Bash.
