Triple H, Kurt Angle

Triple H held a conference call this week ahead of NXT: TakeOver WarGames, where he discussed the possibility of a future match with Kurt Angle.

'Would I love to get in the ring with Kurt and do something with Kurt? Absolutely, if it’s right, if it’s right for everybody, if he continues to want to stay in the ring, if I do, if it’s right for everybody, absolutely. Kurt’s one of the best ever. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen anybody pick it up as fast and become so good so fast, as Kurt.'

The seeds for a future clash were potentially sown on this week's Raw, where Triple H made a dramatic return to the main roster and attacked Angle's storyline son, Jason Jordan - placing himself on Raw's Survivor Series team in the process.

A clash between Angle and Triple H at this Sunday's pay per view would hardly be a surprise, and would surely lead to further speculation of a match somewhere down the line - maybe even WrestleMania 34.

In the conference call, Triple H also revealed that Saturday's WarGames structure will not feature a roof, citing the changes in wrestling over the past couple of decades.

'I don't think personally that we've changed the concept of what it is. [...] There are some small tweaks, but I think they work better in today's generation than it did in the format that was originally used.'

Another change to the traditional WarGames stipulation sees three teams of three competing, as opposed to two teams of five. The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish) will take on not only the three male members of SAnitY, but also the alliance of Roderick Strong and The Authors of Pain.

Elsewhere on the card, Drew McIntyre defends his NXT Championship against Andrade Almas, while Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce, and Nikki Cross square off for the Women's Championship last vacated by Asuka.
