During the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, AEW Dark has gotten longer and longer and the YouTube show has been used to progress storylines, showcase new talent and rack up wins for the company's more established stars.

Change could be on the horizon, though. Tony Khan revealed during a recent media call that he is "seriously considering" splitting Dark into multiple developmental shows.

The AEW president said: "I do agree with you, we've built a really big roster and it's hard to use everybody, but at the same time, we do need to keep developing talent and bring people in. That's where Dark has become valuable and I've extended the length of Dark and I'm seriously considering splitting Dark into multiple developmental shows. And possibly even having one that is more of a developmental show and one that is more established talent, or maybe a mix of the two.

"But, definitely, our streaming products have given us a good platform to feature a lot of the people we've added and I believe in the people we've added. We've added a lot of people that I really really like to the card recently. And for me, it's really really important to build stars for the future. Will Hobbs is in a prominent position in one of the top matches on this card and Will Hobbs is somebody who came in working on Dark."
