AEW fans rejoiced last week when Keith Lee made his long rumoured AEW debut, handily beating Isiah Kassidy for a spot in the upcoming ‘Face of the Revolution’ ladder match at March’s Revolution PPV.

It wasn’t just AEW fans who were overjoyed with Lee’s signing, as AEW President Tony Khan couldn’t hid his joy at signing the former NXT and PWG Champion, telling Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso:

“Keith’s debut was incredible. Much to my amazement, Keith got released [from WWE]. As soon as I saw that he was released, this was the moment I dreamed about.”

Prior to debuting, Keith Lee got married to fellow wrestler Mia Yim, with Yim trying to throw fans off the scent of Lee’s impending debut, insinuating on social media that the two were on their honeymoon:

“It was crazy timing,” Khan says. “I’m so happy with how the debut has been received. It’s very well deserved, and I am very excited to have Keith in AEW.”

A versatile big man, Lee built up a strong following on the independent scene, before signing with WWE in 2018, where he became the first wrestler in NXT history to hold the NXT Championship and NXT North American Championship at the same time.
