AEW President Tony Khan has hit out at people within All Elite Wrestling, calling the leak about Orange Cassidy's new entrance music "shameful."

A report from Fightful Select over the weekend revealed AEW are working on securing the rights for 'Jane' by Jefferson Starship, the entrance music that Orange Cassidy used while he performed on the independent wrestling scene.

Speaking at the post-Forbidden Door media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed the promotion are working on securing the rights to 'Jane' but he criticised leaks from within AEW, saying "all it does is screw up a fun surprise for the fans."

Khan stated: "In this case, that's music that Orange Cassidy had used - the theme that's been rumoured on the internet - for a long time. It's also why, unfortunately, I love the people backstage and I was just talking about Brodie [Lee]. I didn't mean to keep going to it but there were 100 people sitting in the stands in Daily's Place when Amanda [Huber] told us Brodie was sick. I know there's a lot of new people since then but there are a lot of people here and a lot of them are the same people even though there is a lot of new faces, and nobody said a word. So when it's something life and death you can trust the people backstage but I've learned around a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff is leaked. It's like really shameful and people shouldn't be doing it.

"And that's one of those ones that screwed up what would have been maybe a pop but also which will still be a huge pop. These things are organic so you can't make that night. It's gonna be a huge pop if it happens but like the fact that it even came up is dumb. Like I said to Sean [Ross Sapp], I was like okay, if you're going to report it, I was surprised to read it because I was like why would somebody leak that because all it does is screw up a fun surprise for the fans. But it's like I told Sean, we don't even have...as I understand it we have 97.5% of the rights but in this case that's 0%. We're real close, I've been told by the 2.5% rights-holder that they're gonna get back to us and it seems like it'll probably happen. But like the fact that I'm even having to explain this I think is ridiculous and it's because somebody in the back shouldn't have said what they said."

Orange Cassidy currently uses 'Where Is My Mind?' by The Pixies as his entrance theme and has done so since March of 2021.
