Prior to his removal as TNA President, one of Scott D’Amore’s goals for TNA in 2024 was to take the promotion’s pay-per-view special events to ‘A market’ cities in North America, with the likes of New York, Toronto, and Las Vegas considered for TNA shows.

Hard to Kill in January 2024 was live from Las Vegas, with Rebellion on April 21 also set for ‘Sin City’. However, a report from PWInsider states that Rebellion was originally set for New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

For many fans, the Hammerstein Ballroom is synonymous with ECW, with Paul Heyman’s revolutionary hardcore federation using the Hammerstein as its second home in the late 90s, outside of the ECW Arena in Philadelphia. The legendary WWE-produced ECW One Night Stand event in 2005 was broadcast from the Hammerstein too.

Outside of ECW, Ring of Honor have ran the Hammerstein on many occasions, whilst Game Changer Wrestling set an attendance record for the venue with The WRLD on GCW in early 2022.

TNA currently run four pay-per-view events a year, with Hard to Kill, Rebellion, Slammiversary, and Bound for Glory all presented on PPV, whilst the promotion also runs regular TNA+ specials. TNA are expected to once again team with New Japan Pro-Wrestling for a ‘Multiverse’ show later in 2024.
