Anthem's reported unwillingness to fund a possible expansion of TNA Wrestling looks to be affecting the contracts that are being offered to the promotion's talent.

It emerged this week that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley's deals with TNA Wrestling are believed to be expiring in the near future, possibly as soon as the end of March. Fightful Select has since reported that the Motor City Machine Guns' contracts are indeed believed to be up within the month and sources close to TNA also believe Shelley and Sabin may soon no longer be under contract with the promotion.

Sabin and Shelley's deals expiring comes at a time when TNA has reportedly changed how they structure contracts. Offers from TNA as of late have been "categorically different" to what talent expected, especially after talent meetings in recent months, and some talent have been offered per-date deals with TNA instead of full-time contracts. If this change has affected Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin is unknown, however.

The change in TNA deals comes after Scott D'Amore was fired as TNA President by Anthem Head Len Asper in February. D'Amore's firing followed disagreements with Anthem over the future of TNA as he wished to expand the promotion following the return of the 'TNA' name, while Anthem were reluctant to fund further expansion for TNA in 2024.

D'Amore offered $10 million to buy TNA from Anthem but the parent company rejected the offer.
