Tiffany Stratton & Lyra Valkyria Advance In WWE NXT Women's Title Tournament

The NXT Women's Championship tournament got underway on the May 9 edition of NXT with two first-round matches.

Eight women were selected to compete for the gold and Tiffany Stratton faced Gigi Dolin in the opening match of the tournament. Stratton ended up making quick work of the former Toxic Attraction member, picking up the win after four minutes with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.

Lyra Valkyria then faced Kiana James later in the night. After a more competitive encounter, Valkyria scored the victory following a Roundhouse Kick.

Stratton will face the winner of Roxanne Perez vs. Jacy Jayne in the semi-finals, while Valkyria will take on the winner of Cora Jade vs. Fallon Henley. The final two first-round matches will take place on next week's NXT.

The NXT Women's Title was vacated after Indi Hartwell was drafted to Monday Night Raw during the WWE Draft. The tournament final is scheduled for NXT Battleground on May 28.
