Jamie Hayter is officially the AEW Women's World champion, as announced during Wednesday's Dynamite in Chicago, after lineal champion Thunder Rosa relinquished the belt.

Renee Paquette announced to the live crowd that due to Rosa still recovering from her injuries, she and AEW came to a mutual agreement for her to let go of the championship, enabling interim champion Hayter's reign to become official.

If the reign is official as of this date, then Rosa's reign as Women's World champion ends after 253 days. She won the title after defeating Dr. Britt Baker in a steel cage match on the March 16 episode of Dynamite.

Rosa was sidelined from AEW in late August, due to officially undisclosed injuries. This necessitated staging a match to crown an interim champion, a four-way bout that Toni Storm won over Hayter, Baker, and Hikaru Shida at All Out in Chicago on September 4. Originally, Rosa was scheduled to defend her title against Storm at All Out.

Storm lost the interim championship to Hayter at Saturday's Full Gear pay-per-view in Newark, NJ.

UPDATE: Excalibur announced later in the Dynamite broadcast that Tony Khan has retroactively validated Toni Storm's interim title reign as well, removing the "interim" label for Storm's 76-day reign.
