Thunder Rosa has seen her name shed in some controversial light over the last year or so, with reported backstage heat with several others including Britt Baker. Things seem to be cooling when it comes to this, with Rosa revealing herself in a recent interview that she took steps to fix things with the other women on AEW’s roster.

Rosa spoke on Busted Open Radio to address several different stories and rumours, one of which was the situation involving the AEW Women’s World Championship. Rosa got injured during her reign, but instead of a vacated belt, others fought for an “Interim” Women’s World Title in her absence - a move which drew a lot of criticism. Rosa cleared things up and said that this wasn’t her call;

“For me personally, I wanted to drop the title the day that they told me I couldn't wrestle because I was going to be out for four to six weeks. My boss made that decision. He said, 'You are going to be the champion and we will have an interim champion.' For me, as a competitor, I wanted to make it fair so my peers had a chance to [wrestle for] the championship because it wasn't fair that I wasn't there, I wasn't going to be there, and I was going to hold the title.”

Rosa further went on to explain how she did take accountability for some things that were within her control, and would even go on to apologise to others in AEW.

“We got to respect the people that are now representing the company. I'm representing the company in a different manner. I have talked to the locker room and I took accountability for things that some people had issues with and I went out there and apologized. And that's the best thing that I can do because I want to make money, I want to make sure that I am able to work with everyone regardless of if we have any issues or not.”

It is unclear when exactly Rosa will return to AEW programming, as she is still feeling some discomfort within her recovery and attempts to come back to in-ring competition.
