For the second time in 2018, WWE Raw posted the lowest ratings in the show's illustrious history.

The Wrestling Observer

revealed the figures, with this week's episode garnering 2.35 million viewers over its three-hour time slot - down 12% from last week's post Hell in a Cell pay-per-view show which drew 2.67 million. The hour-by-hour breakdown of this week's figures is the following:

  • Hour 1: 2.49 million
  • Hour 2: 2.28 million
  • Hour 3: 2.28 million

The reason for this is abundantly clear and is no real fault of WWE's. Raw was going up against a myriad of shows that would have lured a large portion of that crucial

casual

demographic away. Monday saw the respective season debuts of The Voice and Dancing With The Stars, while the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday Night Football game couldn't have helped matters any.

Hey, let's face it, those who didn't see this week's show missed out on some truly great stuff. The Revival's WWE Raw Tag Team Championship match against Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler belonged on an NXT TakeOver special, while the seeds being sewn for a potential Dean Ambrose heel turn was as fantastic as it was tantalizing.

Of course, we've seen WWE pull some monumental moments out of their proverbial hat in the past when the ratings haven't been where they should, so might something spectacular happen on next week's show? Shawn Michaels is in town ahead of his role as Triple H's cornerman at Super Show-Down in Australia on 6 October, and a rumoured match at Crowl Jewel on 2 November. Jus' sayin'...
