On March 3, 2024, the iconic Sting will finally be entering retirement, with his last match scheduled for the AEW Revolution PPV. Since coming out of retirement in 2021 (first competing at the Revolution 2021 event), Sting has wrestled in 27 matches and is still undefeated to this point. At the age of 64 and with some of the outrageous bumps he has taken, it looks like it is all taking its toll on Sting.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sting isn’t in the best of shapes ahead of his professional wrestling retirement. Meltzer explains that “Sting has been hurting although he is fine to wrestle. He just does so much considering his age and at that age (almost 65), it is harder on the body to recover from a match.”

Sting & Darby Allin are set to take on Ricky Starks and Big Bill in two weeks time for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, and are then expected to face off with The Young Bucks at Revolution in what will be Sting’s final ever match.
