Shinsuke Nakamura Outlines His WWE Retirement Plans

Shinsuke Nakamura isn't being used very much at all on WWE SmackDown Live these days. Placed in a makeshift tag team with Rusev, the former NXT Champion's last televised match took place on the April 23 episode of SD Live where he lost to WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston.

The lack of action on WWE's blue brand seemingly has Nakamura looking to the future, as he has loosely outlined his retirement plans.

where he was promoting WWE's shows in Singapore next month, Nakamura has said that he will look to hang up his wrestling boots when he hits the age of 45 (thanks to

for the transcription): "I want to wrestle at least five more years. I'm 39 now. Baseball player Ichiro Suzuki retired at 45 and he was such an influence for Japanese sportsmen, especially those who lived in other countries, and so I need to wrestle until I'm 45 years old."

Two-time United States Champion Shinsuke is set to take on Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship on those Singapore shows.
