Scott D'Amore's future plans following his firing by TNA Wrestling earlier this year have been revealed.

It was announced today that Scott D'Amore has revived Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling and the promotion will hold their return shows later this year, titled 'Forged in Excellence'. The shows will emanate from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Tickets will be on sale from 10 am ET on August 26.

Both of the promotion's return shows will air on TrillerTV and the likes of Raj Dhesi (AKA Jinder Mahal), Josh Alexander, Gisele Shaw, KUSHIDA, Alex Zayne, Kevin Knight, Jake Something, Trevor Lee, and Kylie Rae will be in action.

"For six decades, Maple Leaf Wrestling hosted a who's who of the world's greatest wrestlers. Legends like Lou Thesz, Bruno Sammartino, Ric Flair, Andre the Giant and Rowdy Roddy Piper all competed in Maple Leaf. Now, we're bringing that legacy back with modern-day legends from WWE, New Japan, TNA, AEW and beyond," said Scott D'Amore.

Maple Leaf Wrestling was the unofficial name of the Toronto-based promotion during the territory days of pro wrestling. The promotion was run by the Tunney family until 1984 when Jack Tunney transferred the controlling interest in Maple Leaf Wrestling to Vince McMahon and WWE. Jack Tunney would then run WWE's operations in Canada and serve as the on-screen president of WWE for several years.

Scott D'Amore has been away from pro wrestling since February 2024 when he was fired as TNA President. D'Amore was fired due to disagreements with Anthem, TNA's parent company, over the direction of the promotion with Anthem said to be reluctant to fund further expansion. D'Amore tried to purchase TNA before his exit for $10 million but the offer was rejected.

Scott D'Amore is still being paid by Anthem through February 2025 and he has a no-compete clause that prevents him from working with AEW, WWE, or another major North American promotion until after February 2025.
