Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks was missing from this weekend's WWE Live events, as it looks like the injury that saw The Boss forced to withdraw from the Mixed Match Challenge is legit.

While it's unknown at the time of writing what ruled Banks out of action, it certainly appears to be serious. We started last week believing Sasha would be teaming with Raw's Bobby Lashley for the MMC, however, we ended it with the disappointing news that the four-time Raw Women's Champion had been forced to withdraw from the entire series. Mickie James will be taking her place.

This is the second big injury to hit the Raw women's division in seven days, after it was announced that Alexa Bliss was also forced to pull out of the MMC after waking up last Tuesday morning with numbness in her left arm. The fact The Goddess didn't take part in any physical action in the ring on last Monday's Raw suggests this is a problem she picked up while unsuccessfully challenging for Ronda Rousey's title at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

As for Banks, this is the latest setback in what has been a frustrating period of late. After sitting at the very top of the women's ranks in all of WWE, never mind Raw, she has been relegated to a bit-part player following a feud with Bayley that was as confusing as it was long. Let's all hope this breather from WWE gives Sasha the chance to refresh before a big return - she's too good for the role she's been given of late.
