Roman Reigns has been cleared to return to the ring, following a a reported bout with mumps. A report by

PWInsider

claims that the three-time WWE Champion is all set for a return to action, according to WWE sources, and that he should be part of an unannounced match for Survivor Series.

Reigns is likely to join Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins for a six-man tag bout against SmackDown's New Day, scheduled to take place at the pay per view on November 19th.

Roman's last in-ring appearance came on October 16, where he lost to Braun Strowman in a Steel Cage match on Raw (thanks largely to the interference of the returning Kane). He was then hit by illness, along with fellow superstars Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas and ring announcer, JoJo Offerman.

These conditions caused several changes to the TLC card on October 22, with Raw General Manager Kurt Angle stepping in to compete alongside Reigns' usual Shield partners. AJ Styles also filled in at the last minute, facing Finn Balor in place of Wyatt.

Should the six-man Survivor Series match go ahead as planned, it would make sense, given New Day's recent interference on Monday Night Raw. The trio interrupted Ambrose and Rollins' tag title defence against Sheamus and Cesaro, distracting the Shield members and causing them to lose the championship.

It, therefore, follows that The Shield would be looking for revenge. If the match is indeed to be confirmed, it will likely be set up on this week's Raw - perhaps involving Reigns' first onscreen appearance since his illness.

There's no more word yet on future plans for Roman, who rejoined The Shield a short while ago. Rumours were circulating regarding a fourth successive WrestleMania main event for The Big Dog, this time a Universal Championship showdown with Brock Lesnar.
