A WWE Hall Of Famer is planning to come out of retirement for Ric Flair's final match.

It was announced on Monday that The Nature Boy will return to the squared circle on July 31 at an independent wrestling event. The show is being promoted by Thuzio under the guise of Jim Crockett Promotions and the show will air on FITE.

A report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter over the weekend noted the plan for Flair's return match was the 16-time world champion and FTR vs. The Rock 'N' Roll Express and an unknown opponent.

That unknown opponent has been revealed and Fightful Select reported Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat is planning to come out of retirement for Flair's last match.

The match has not been confirmed as of yet but the plan has been in place for several weeks and Steamboat has met Flair's son-in-law Conrad Thompson in person. The match hasn't been signed off by AEW President Tony Khan as of yet, though, and the six-man is 'far from a done deal.'

As it stands, Steamboat's final match was a 2010 tag team match in Florida Championship Wrestling with his son Richie against Trent Baretta and Caylen Croft. Flair's last match was against Sting on a September 2011 show from TNA Wrestling.

During Steamboat and Flair's long careers, they teamed together or faced each other on 290 occasions according to Cagematch.
