One of the highlights of AEW Double or Nothing 2021 was Sting and Darby Allin against Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page.

This was Sting’s first in-ring match for over six years since his loss to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WWE Night of Champions in 2015, and the 62 year old legend looked superb in the bout, taking a suplex on the entrance ramp and hitting a big crossbody splash off of the stage, amongst other highlights.

According to a report from PWInsider, The Stinger received a ‘huge pop’ backstage after his match from fellow wrestlers in the locker room, and AEW backstage staff alike. It is also said that AEW staff were impressed with the former WCW Champion, with his performance also being a huge topic across social media during and after the event.

This was Sting’s second bout in AEW, after he and Darby Allin defeated Brian Cage and Ricky Starks in a cinematic Street Fight at Revolution on March 7, another performance in which Sting received massive praise online. As to what AEW have in store for The Icon, we are yet to find out.
