Report: People Very Concerned About Adam Cole
Latest on Adam Cole in AEW
Nov 18, 2022
All Elite Wrestling have been without one of their top stars for the past several months and Adam Cole has been on the shelf since he faced Jay White, Kazuchika Okada, and Hangman Page for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 26.
Cole suffered a serious concussion in that match, collapsing to the mat in the final moments before Jay White hastily made the cover to retain his title. The popular star has appeared once on AEW TV since then to turn on The Young Bucks in early August but he has not resurfaced in recent months.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted Adam Cole's situation was not addressed by Tony Khan in the pre-Full Gear media call but "a number of people have brought up being very concerned for him." What this means for Cole's pro-wrestling future remains to be seen but past reports have noted the former WWE NXT Champion might never wrestle again, such is the severity of his concussion.
Cole has been a part of AEW since debuting at All Out 2021. He has unsuccessfully challenged for the AEW World Championship and he was the winner of the inaugural Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
