Report: No Timescale For Lance Archer's AEW Return
An update on Archer
Oct 30, 2021
There was a scary moment on the October 23 edition of AEW Dynamite.
During his AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament match against Eddie Kingston, Lance Archer went for a Moonsault but under-rotated on the flip and his head ended up hitting the canvas before the rest of his body.
Dr. Michael Sampson immediately headed to the ring to check on Archer, and according to Dave Meltzer, the doctor and Tony Khan called for the match to go to the finish. Kingston then rolled up the former IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion moments later for the win.
In an update, Meltzer noted Archer was "knocked silly" from the Moonsault and he suffered a jammed neck as a result of the move. The results of further testing are currently unknown but there is no timescale on when Archer might return to the ring in AEW. He also hasn't been scheduled for the Full Gear pay-per-view or a major storyline.
Archer had spent much of the last couple of months feuding with Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston alongside NJPW's Minoru Suzuki. Archer was previously a member of Suzuki-gun during his years in New Japan and Pro Wrestling NOAH.
