Double or Nothing 2021 saw the return of the Stadium Stampede match, with The Inner Circle defeating The Pinnacle in a wild gimmicky brawl.

Fighting everywhere from walk in freezers, chair storage rooms, and the offices of the Jacksonville Jaguars before making its way in-ring in Daily’s Place, the Stadium Stampede was part cinematic spectacle, part traditional Falls Count Anywhere match.

Now, according to a report from Fightful Select, it appears as though the majority of the match was filmed last Thursday, with additional footage captured on Friday.

Sean Ross Sapp’s report said that the editing process in particular was put over as it was a quick turnaround considering what was filmed for the match, and that backstage staff in AEW were pleased with how the pre-filmed footage and live match segments were integrated during the PPV.

With huge spectacles such as The Inner Circle rappelling down the Jags’ scoreboard, and the MJF Chris Jericho fight spilling into Coach Meyer’s office, it made all the sense in the world to pre-film, with live TV being unpredictable at the best of times.
