Jeff Cobb revealed recently that he signed with a wrestling promotion before the coronavirus pandemic. Cobb didn't say who he signed with, however, as he wanted them to make the announcement. He did note that he held talks with WWE while he was a free agent, though.

The unnamed promotion is yet to announce Cobb's signing but The Hawaiian Hulk has solely competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling since the company started running shows again back in June. He will also compete in the upcoming G1 Climax 30 against the likes of Will Ospreay, Kota Ibushi and Kazuchika Okada.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he thinks Cobb is now "a New Japan guy."

Meltzer said: "I think Jeff Cobb has signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling because he's been telling people all year long that he's signed with somebody, but he wouldn't say who. And he's with New Japan Pro-Wrestling completely, he's in G1, so pretty darn sure he's signed. Which is good for him because, you know, he turned down AEW over this. Everyone's got their goal and his goal was to get a contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. It was never WWE… Ring Of Honor was the stepping stone to get to New Japan and he got to New Japan through Ring Of Honor, and now he's a New Japan guy."
