All Elite Wrestling returned to North Carolina for the August 12 edition of Collision, with the Saturday night show taking place from Greensboro.

A major talking point coming out of the show was CM Punk’s post-Collision promo, with the former AEW World Champion playfully taking shots at Hangman Page seemingly out of nowhere, with Punk receiving heavy boos from the audience for his run-down of the Elite member.

Hangman is from neighbouring Virginia, and was reportedly originally set to be in the building to record a backstage interview for the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite, but according to a report from F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer, Page was told to do the interview away from the building. There’s no word on why Hangman was allegedly told this, nor if he did indeed record his interview at a different location.

Reports suggest that Page wasn’t the only one surplus to requirements at Collision, with Ryan Nemeth allegedly sent home from the show. A report from Fightful Select suggests that the ‘Hollywood Hunk’ was told by a coach he wasn’t needed at the show, and was sent home. Rumours suggest that Nemeth’s dismissal could be due to past disagreements with CM Punk, with Punk allegedly taking exception to a tweet from Nemeth that read “Literally the softest man alive…” that was posted after Punk’s recent return promo.

Punk reportedly confronted Nemeth about the tweet at an earlier date, with Nemeth allegedly explaining himself to Punk.
