Whilst the build up to AEW All Out on September 4 has been nothing short of chaotic, one name who has been conspicuous by their absence from AEW TV is that of Eddie Kingston, with barely any mention of ‘The Mad King’ since setting up a potential match with Sammy Guevara for the PPV.

Now it seems that Kingston has been absent due to suspension, and that the match with Guevara could possibly be scrapped, after a report from Fightful Select suggested that Kingston was sent home after an altercation with Guevara backstage.

Dave Meltzer had earlier reported that Kingston served a brief suspension due to a verbal dispute with Guevara, but Fightful’s report suggests that things got physical, and Kingston swung at the former TNT Champion after Guevara reportedly made remarks about Kingston’s physique.

Kingston’s suspension is believed to have been completed, but a planned segment to hype their potential PPV match was nixed, and it remains to be seen if the match will go down at all. AEW’s social accounts have continued to hype the match, and the team of Guevara and Tay Melo are set to take on Kingston’s allies Ortiz and Ruby Soho on the August 26 edition of Rampage so at this point it looks like it could still be on.

Reflecting on the suspension, Kingston said the following to PWInsider:

"You know the truth. I wouldn't lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional. That is the blind fact. He did what he did and the public can judge that but I know for a fact I was wrong."

There is no word if Sammy Guevara also served a suspension for his part in the altercation.
