After weeks of radio silence from AEW after the events of the All Out backstage brawl, one of the participants in the fight Ace Steel was reportedly released from the company earlier this week amidst an ongoing investigation into the fight.

Steel reportedly bit Kenny Omega and threw a chair at Nick Jackson during the fight, and according to a report from Fightful Select, the unanimous opinion within AEW was always that Steel would be relieved of his duties for his supposed role in the fight, with many believing he’d be gone shortly after All Out if it weren’t for potential legal ramifications.

The report continues, stating that ‘most everyone’ in the locker room believed they were done working with Steel as soon as the post-PPV TV tapings, and that even those who were on good terms with Steel believed there was no choice but to release him, with the bite marks on Kenny Omega’s arm prominent and visible to all.

A veteran talent revealed to Fightful that if Steel were to have returned to the company with or without CM Punk it would have likely caused frustration. Steel only joined AEW earlier this year, working as a backstage producer.
